UPDATED Oct. 23, 2013: International Vice President Sean O'Brien has been charged by the Independent Review Board (IRB) for threatening to "punish" members for running for local union office in Rhode Island Local 251.
O'Brien's threats violate the Teamster Constitution and federal law (the Landrum Griffin Act), which makes it illegal to threaten to retaliate against members for exercising their union rights.
Why is a low life, uneducated union scumbag like Boston Local 25 Teamster Union President, Sean Obrien, who once ran an illicit truck driver training school on Massport property, who associates with known felons, who uses union thugs to attack fellow union members who dare to question his methods and leadership, and who was just caught threatening (See YouTube Video) union members at a rally in Rhode Island with punishment if they did not vote his way, on Massports Board of Director's?
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The highest ranking Teamsters official in New England is facing possible disciplinary action for comments he made at a union election rally in Rhode Island.
Sean O'Brien, the powerful vice president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and a top lieutenant to labor president James Hoffa, is facing possible suspension from the union for stating members should be "punished" if they elected someone other than those he supported in a Rhode Island labor election.
According to findings of the Independent Review Board (IRB) – an organization that investigates union corruption – O'Brien was speaking at a rally for Local 251 Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Bairos in East Providence when he said he would have a "major problem" with those who voted against Bairos.
"I've got news for you, anybody who takes on my friend, Joe Bairos and his team, or Local 251, they've got a major problem," O'Brien said according to a transcript in the IRB letter. "They'll never be our friends. They need to be punished."
The comments were posted in a YouTube video, according to the IRB letter. They have since been removed.
As Vice President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and President of the Local 25 in Boston, O'Brien made more than $207,000 in 2012, according to the IRB. The board found his powerful position in the union gives him the power "to retaliate against these political opponents."
David Levin is an organizer with the Teamsters for a Democratic Union and supports the opposition movement inside Local 251. During a phone call from his New York office, he called the ruling "significant."
"The fact that a grassroots movement in Rhode Island has shaken the Teamster power structure not only in New England but across the country is a good story for underdogs who believe in union democracy," Levin said. "It's illegal to threaten members for exercising their right to run for union office."
Levin supplied the letter from the IRB to WPRI.com. He said recommendations by the board are almost always followed by the unions.
O'Brien will likely be suspended by the Teamsters for his comments, which could impact his chances for reelection as vice president, according to Levin. He said Hoffa has 90 days to decide on what to do and the IRB has to sign off on any decision.
Bairos is being challenged by Matt Taibi for the position of Secretary-Treasurer, which is the top position within the local. The election began on October 9th through mail-in ballots. They will be counted on October 30.
The Local 251 represents more than 2,500 workers. Rhode Island Hospital employs the largest amount of workers in the union.
The Teamsters were founded in 1903 and have 1.4 million members at 1,900 local affiliates throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, according to the union’s website.
O’Brien has not returned a call for comment but in the IRB letter he told investigators the comments were “a poor choice of words.”
The IRB was formed after a 1989 federal court decision in a Teamsters case. It investigates and takes action on “any allegations of corruption” according to a description on the Teamsters’ website.
The three-member panel is made up of an appointee from the Attorney General of the United States, the Teamsters and a third party mutually agreed upon by the government and the union.

When Ed Freni was hired by Massport, he was the General Manager of American Airlines at Logan International Airport, a position he had held since 1996.
In early 2000, Ed Freni and an American Airlines Stewardess by the name of Michele Mathison were caught having an affair by Michele Mathison's husband. Michele Mathison's husband contacted American Airlines Officials about the affair, and American Airlines upset about the affair, and the fact that Freni's affair involved a subordinate worker, gave Ed Freni the option to retire or be terminated.
Having been forced to retire from American Airlines, Ed Freni's good friend and golf partner, Massport CEO, Thomas Kinton Jr., hired Ed Freni to be the Massports Director of Operations in May of 2000, despite the fact that the position had already been promised to a much more experieced John Duval. Apparently Massport CEO Thomas Kinton Jr. felt that Freni, an adulter, who had been forced to retire from American Airline's because of an affair with a subordinate worker, would fit right in at Massport.
Eventually Ed Freni and Michele M. Mathison married, after they both divorced their spouses. A true Cindarealla Love Story, if I've ever heard one, not! Today Michele M. Pepin, on March 03, 1993, for the offense of Solicitation of Prostitution/Payment for Sex, Herby Duverne was put in charge of Security at Massports Logan International Airport. In June of 2001, Massports Senior Staff refused to allow their own Director of Public Safety, Joe Lawless, the opportunity to impliment undercover security checkpoint testing that was intended to test the proficiency and systems of the airline security checkpoints.
Just as the airlines had, Massport had a duty, an obligation to assure that the airlines were properly screening passengers, which Massports Director of Public Safety, Joe Lawless, tried to do, but was ordered not to, by Massports Senior Staff, because of the protestations of the airlines and the FAA.

Massport Troopers were told that Middle Eastern men were “acting suspiciously” and videotaping airport security check points in May 2001, Months before the horrific 9/11 attacks, but the lackadaisical Massachusetts State Troopers specially assigned to protect Logan International Airport failed to act on the tips.
In court documents, American Airlines technician Steve Wallace revealed that after watching a Middle Eastern man, who was later identified as, al- Qaeda 9/11 leader Mohammed Atta, and another man videotaping an American Airlines checkpoint in Terminal B, Wallace told a state trooper, “These two clowns are up to something.”
American Airlines technician Steve Wallace said he left the trooper at the checkpoint, but the trooper never asked Atta for identification nor did he interrogate him, before Atta was allowed through the check point.

In 2012, against my Supervisor Michele Freadman's wishes, I reported Massachusetts Special State Police Officer Robert Taylor, who also happens to be a fellow union member, to Massports Human Resources Department, and to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), because of his history of harassment and discrimination against blacks, Hispanics, and other Minorities that dated back to 2009, as the evidence below shows.

Immediately after going against my supervisor Michele Freadman's wishes, and reporting Massport employee Robert Taylor for discrimination, my supervisor Michele Freadman began retaliating against me, for what Massports administrator's call"Creating Waves."
My Union President, Local 25 Teamster Sean O'Brien, also began to retaliate against me for turning fellow union member Robert Taylor in for discrimination, and even went as far as to send two union thugs, Local 25 Teamster Union Vice President John Murhy, and Massport Local 25 Teamster Union Chief Steward Michael O'Brien (Sean O'Brien's Brother) to my work place at Massport to attack me and threaten me, which resulted in me having to be ambulatized and hospitalzed that day.
You see, at Massport, Massports administrator's like Michele Freadman don't discipline or fire known racists because that would be admitting that there are racist employees employed at Massport, and that would open up Massport to potential lawsuits. So instead, Massports Administrator's make any complaints of racism they receive go away by firing the complaintant, which is exactly what Massport did to me on June 27, 2012, after I reported that Massachusetts Special State Police Officer Robert Taylor was discriminating against blacks, Hispanics, and other Minorities. 1. Michele Freadman's former Supervisor, Senior Vice President Chris Cawley, states that she was "extremely insubordinate" while employed at Metropolitan .
2. Michele Freadman's Supervisor, Chris Cawley, states that he "could not rely upon her to do what he told her to do in a high profile environment," at Metropolitan, so he demotes her from her managerial position.
3.Michele Freadman, angered about her demotion, quits, and files a frivolous lawsuit against Metropolitan in December of 2001, claiming that Metropolitan had discriminated against her because of her disability,"Ulcerative Colitis, which is known to cause rectal pain, urgency to defecate, powerful and painful bowel movements," but Chief Judge Boudin, Circuit Judge Torruella, and Circuit Judge Lynch, do not believe her, and find in favor of Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company.
Yet, Massport hires Michele Freadman as a Manager and promotes her to the position of Deputy Director of Aviation Security at Massport?

Logan International Airport head honcho Ed Freni, unleashed a profanity-laced tirade on state police sergeant Jack Flynn, and pledged to fire Trooper Torname who tried to boot a Massport crony from a restricted lot on a day that President Obama flew into Boston.
In a heated, seven-minute call, Logan director Ed Freni told Sgt. Jack Flynn that trooper Louis Torname, a 25-year veteran, was “out of line” for questioning a retired airline executive friend of his, about his state police parking placard - and threatened to fire the statie.
Had Sgt. Jack Flynn not recorded Massport Aviation Director Ed Freni's, profanity-laced tirade about Trooper Torname, who did nothing wrong, Trooper Torname, would have been, at the very least disciplined, re-assigned, or fired. "

Downing, a Harvard-educated lawyer who is the National Coordinator of the ACLU’s Campaign Against Racial Profiling, testified at trial that he was stopped for questioning by Massachusetts State Police at Massports Logan Airport, after simply using a pay phone, outside the secure area of the airport, on his way out of the airport, and he contended that the only thing that would have attracted the attention of the Massachusetts State Police was his appearance, which as you can see in the photo above, he is an African American man with brown skin, and a beard.
If ACLU Attorney King Downing were a white man, who was simply using a pay phone, outside the secure area of the airport, on his way out of the airport, would he have been stopped and threatened with arrest by the Massachusetts State Police at Massport's Logan Airport?

When speaking about Mr. Downing's racial profiling/discrimination case against Massport, ACLU Cooperating Attorney Peter Krupp was quoted as saying.

Two Haitian immigrants Djovanna Dorce, and Charles Pierre, who work for a cleaning company at Massports Logan International Airport said they have been unfairly disciplined for speaking Creole on the job.
Charles Pierre said his manager doesn’t care when the other coworkers speak their language, but when people speak Creole he has problem,” Pierre said. The same day he was suspended, Sept. 27, another Haitian speaker named Djovanna Dorce was fired by Flight Services and Systems because she spoke her native language of Haitian Creole at the airport, according to Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 615.
Pierre and Dorce have filed complaints with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) . Pierre said he has not yet heard back. Flight Services and Systems did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Massport response to Hatian immigrants being discriminated against on Massport property is to
completely wash their hands of these discimination complaints, by issuing the following statement:
“These workers are not employed by Massport. They are employed by FSS, a company which contracts with airlines,”

In July of 2012, while at Massport's Logan Airport Kenneth Boatner, a 68 year old, African American, psychologist and educational consultant in Boston who was traveling to Atlanta for a business trip was unlawfully detained at Massport's Logan Airport.
In a formal complaint he filed with the agency afterward, he said he was pulled out of line and detained for 29 minutes as agents thumbed through his checkbook and examined his clients’ clinical notes, his cellphone and other belongings.
The officers gave no explanation, but Dr. Boatner, who is black, said he suspected the reason he was stopped was his race and appearance. He was wearing sweat pants, a white T-shirt and high-top sneakers.
He said he felt humiliated. “I had never been subjected to anything like that,” he said in an interview.

If Kenneth Boatner were 68 year old white man, would he have been stopped and unlawfully detained for nearly 30 minutes?

More than 30 Federal TSA Officer's in an airport program intended to spot telltale mannerisms of potential terrorists say the operation has become a magnet for racial profiling, targeting not only Middle Easterners but also blacks, Hispanics and other Minorities.
All of these federal Officer's who came forward about the racial profiling occuring at Massport's Logan Airport asked that their identities not be disclosed to Massport. Why is that?
ANSWER: Because at Massport everyone knows, even the Federal TSA Officer's knew, that it is not the racist who is going to be fired, but the person who spoke up about the racism occurring.
None of the above individual's racially profiled, or discriminated against on Massport property, committed any crimes on Massport property, unless you consider having dark skin a crime.

Despite the fact that Robert Taylor was caught on camera sleeping on duty, dispite the fact that Assistant Fire Chief James Collins witnessed Robert Taylor sleeping on duty, and dispite the fact that Airport Supervisor Richard Cardinale was immediately made aware that Robert Taylor was sleeping on duty, Michele Freadman took no disciplinary action against Robert Taylor, despite the fact that there was a memo posted at Massports North Gate, which prohibited sleeping on duty.
NOTE: Within a couple months of Robert Taylor's being caught sleeping on duty at Massport, and Robert Taylor's co-workers telling Massport Supervisor Michele Freadman that Robert Taylor was a safety risk at Massports Security Gates, Robert Taylor was caught allowing vehicle's onto the airfield, that he had NOT searched, and despite the fact that he had intentionally jeapordized the safety of his co-workers, and everyone at Massport, including the flying public, who fly in and out of Boston Logan Internation Airport, he was only suspended for one (1) week. Robert Taylor could have cost people their lives, and Michele Freadman only suspended Taylor for one (1) week.
Michele Freadman's refusal to discipline Robert Taylor for sleeping on duty and address Robert Taylor's co-workers complaints about him being a serious safety risk at Massports Security Gates, could have and still could, cost people their lives.
